When did Patrick Swayze die

Patrick Swayze died on the 14th of September in the year 2009 after fighting against a critical stage of pancreatic cancer for twenty months. At the time of his death, he was 57 years old and had left no children behind because Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi had none. Patrick Swayze came to know of his stage 4 pancreatic cancer in the month of January in 2008, and at that time, all the newspapers and popular source had confirmed that he would not live much longer. But, contrary to what was said about his extremely short time span that he had left with him, Swayze continued to live and work in spite of the illness. He had great determination and he showed that to the world when he not only continued to live beyond the expectation of the medical experts, but also managed to work in an entire season of “The Beast”, an A&E television series. He played an undercover FBI agent in the series and even at his critical condition, the actor managed to attract a lot of positive reviews for his role in the series when it premiered on 15th January 2009. Patrick Swayze was unable to promote “The Beast” because at that time, his health had once again started to take a course for the worse. However, a week before the day the show began; Patrick Swayze did come on ABC for an hour’s exclusive with “Barbara Walters Special”. On that show, people heard him speak about his illness with hope and determination. A famous line which he said on that show was “I keep my heart and my soul and my spirit open to miracles”. Also on that show, he denounced alternative treatments for cancer in favor of utilizing the little time that he had left, “living” rather than trying to live longer.

Things started to look grim for Patrick Swayze from the beginning of 2009, when he had to be hospitalized due to chemotherapy induced pneumonia. Things got worse again for Swayze on 19th April as now it came to be known that the cancer had spread to his liver again. Things did not improve, and after much struggle and honorable resiliency, Patrick Swayze finally passed away on the 14th of September “with family at his side”. After the cremation ceremony, the ashes were spread over the ranch that he owned in New Mexico.
